About the Whistleblower Protection Act

The Whistleblower Protection Act (Act 2021:890 on protection of persons who report misconduct), which is based on an EU directive, came into force in December 2023 for all employers with at least 50 employees. This means an obligation to establish a reporting system to enable whistleblowing. Certain businesses in the financial sector and anti-money laundering regulations may be required to have a system even with fewer than 50 employees, as they are covered by special EU rules.

Anonymity & confidentiality

Heimdal's whistleblowing system enables anonymity. The system handles reports strictly and confidentially. The whistleblower and investigator can communicate digitally without IP addresses or metadata being stored or disclosed. Information about anonymity is available.

Receipt confirmation & feedback

Reminder notifications that receipt confirmation must be sent within 7 days - even for anonymous reporting - as well as the requirement for feedback within 3 months is supported by the system. The system helps you meet all requirements according to the Whistleblower Protection Act.

GDPR & data protection

All personal data is encrypted, both during transfer and storage. Data is deleted no later than 2 years after the case is closed. The system's access logs for administration are not linked to the whistleblower's identity. The system complies with all GDPR requirements. More information about data protection is available.

Technical security

Communication and data are encrypted during transfer and at rest. The system is on servers within the EU/EEA to avoid problems with Schrems II and third-country transfers. All legal requirements are met.

About Heimdal Systems

Heimdal Systems AB was founded in 2025 to meet the European legal requirements placed on small and medium-sized companies regarding whistleblowing.

The company is part of the Aglander Nyman AB group, which has extensive experience in starting, running and developing companies. The founders of Aglander Nyman also have extensive experience in corporate governance and the design of compliance procedures.

The technical platform has been developed in close collaboration with Flowbic AB, which has extensive experience in software development in related industries. The close collaboration with Flowbic also makes it possible to offer customizations of Heimdal's whistleblowing system to businesses that need additional functionality.
